For medium and large-scale lithium battery packs such as EVs or container energy storage systems, BMS generally consists of two layers: a master control board and slave boards.
Slave boards typically contain four functions:
1) voltage acquisition, 2) temperature acquisition, 3) balancing management, and 4) master-slave communication.
Xunan Smart’s Smart Diagnostic Card integrates all four of the above functions, plus two additional critical functions:
- Internal short-circuit early diagnosis
- Realtime DC-IR evaluation
With internal short-circuit early diagnosis, thermal runaway can be prevented at a very early stage. Internal resistance evaluation enables online monitoring of cell consistency, early identification of excessive internal resistance cells, and thus improves pack performance and lifecycle.
